The Taste of H was started as a typical fundraiser in 2012 by a group of motivated parents looking for a way to do more for their DC public school.
The evening was a great success, but seeing how the funds were used opened their eyes to the lengths DC teachers were going to keep their classrooms stocked with the most basic necessities.
GrantEd Foundation was founded as the vehicle to ensure that teachers would no longer have to spend their own money to keep their classrooms adequately supplied. Proceeds from the Taste of H fund $500 grants for DC public school teachers.
